Wage War Share “TOMBSTONE” Visualizer And It Really Slaps!

 — Briton Bond [lead vocals], Cody Quistad[rhythm guitar, clean vocals], Seth Blake [lead guitar], Chris Gaylord [bass], and Stephen Kluesener [drums] — have entered their world domination era. Last month, the Florida band has announced its fifth album STIGMA, which arrives digitally on June 21 via Fearless Records, while the physical version will land in stores on September 6. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared “TOMBSTONE.” Listen here.

The band has also dropped the visualizer. Watch it here

“Metal riffs meet country western tropes in our new track ‘TOMBSTONE,'” the band explains. “A final showdown with an enemy.  One fight. Two dogs unleashed.”

From its ominous, tension-building opening seconds through the deadly breakdowns, Wage War go hard on “TOMBSTONE.” It’s got vocals that sound like screamer Briton Bond gargled with a razor blade cocktail, thick and groovy riffs that’’ll have you nodding your head, and battering ram percussion. “TOMBSTONE” finds Wage War, unleashing a hellacious anthem that brings the heavy artillery from start to stomp to finish.

Preorder Stigmata Here:

Traveling a constant forward trajectory at lightspeed, Wage War not only push their own sound forward, but they also propel heavy music into new territory. The Florida quintethave always tempered a pummeling metallic onslaught with unshakable melodies. A near-decade grind naturally brought Wage War to this point. They have unleashed a string of fan favorite albums, including Blueprints [2015], Deadweight [2017], Pressure [2019], and Manic [2021]. Beyond looks from SPINModern DrummerAmerican SongwriterRevolverGuitar World, and more, KERRANG! hailed the latter as “their greatest album yet,” and DORK raved, “It’s an embracing of being metalheads, popheads and just fans of good songs. On more than one occasion, there’s an earworm poking its head up through the dirt.” They also put up numbers, tallying hundreds of millions of streams boosted by the likes of “Stitch,” “Low,” “Manic,” and “Circle The Drain.” On their fifth full-length offering STIGMA [Fearless Records], Wage War outfit their signature style with industrial grit and electronic sheen, leveling up into the future in the process with singles such as “MAGNETIC” and “NAIL5.”

Their most accomplished composition to date in sound, concept, and execution, the twelve-track offering earned the #9 position on Billboard’s Current Hard Music Albums chart upon its first week of release.

Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven was produced by Jarrett Pritchard (Exhumed, 1349), and tracked primarily at Studio In The Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana under pandemic restrictions. The band recruited acclaimed producer Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire, Gatecreeper, Code Orange) to mix the record with final mastering duties handled by Grammy-award winning engineer Ted Jensen (Ghost, Gojira, Cult Of Luna). The record is tied together by the art of longtime collaborator Jordan Barlow.

“Angels… consistently rages without ever devolving into the samey sounding banality that plagues so many less adept practitioners. Angels… just gets better the longer it plays.” – Decibel Magazine

“Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven proves yet again that one of the hardest working bands in metal can continue to impress us with their tried and true brand of blackened extremity.” – Metal Injection

GOATWHORE has begun a new campaign of terror with this album, channeling their darkest and most malicious release in some time.” – Lambgoat

“If you love war metal, this pick will be right up your alley. It assaults you with blitzkrieg strength. This evil offering is pleasantly raw. Yet, it is also a polished and mature work. GOATWHORE will catch you off guard with soaring guitar solos and the like.” – MetalSucks

“Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven cherry-picks the best bits from various subgenres — the guttural intensity of death metal, the trilling majesty of black metal — and assembles them into songs that feel almost regal in their hateful conviction.” – Spin Magazine’s 10 Best Metal Albums Of 2022

“The blackened thrash remains up front, as Falgoust’s growls and Duet’s riffs and sinister solos coalesce with the determined rhythms of Simmons and Coleman. GOATWHORE ascends to eviscerate all expectations. Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven exceeds the related genre’s boundaries and redefines their sound and place in the landscape of metal.” – New Noise Magazine

“… all killer with no filler… Whatever the future may hold for GOATWHORE, Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven proves that the band is at the top of its game, and that it has much more to offer.” – Blabbermouth

Hellbutcher Unleashes “Hordes of the Horned God” Single

Self-Titled Debut Nears Release On Metal Blade Records

As the frontman of legendary Swedish maniacs NifelheimHellbutcher stands among the most elite figures of the black metal underground, and with his eponymous new band, HELLBUTCHER, his frenzied mission continues conjuring sounds of pure blasphemy and absolute musical Armageddon. Nothing less than total metal devastation will do!

Following the end of Nifelheim, who played their final show in late 2022, Hellbutcherwasted no time in forging forward. Teaming up with old compadres in evil, guitarists Necrophiliac and Iron Beast, bassist Eld, and drummer Devastator (ex-Nifelheim), HELLBUTCHER quickly set about bringing their new vision to life. Together, they had quickly amassed enough material to record their raging, hellish, self-titled debut album, set for release on May 31st through Metal Blade Records.

Recording in various locations around Sweden, such as Devastator’s own Red And Black Hall Drum Studio and Iron Beast’s Chrome Studios, and producing and mastering everything themselves – “No need for an outside producer since we knew exactly how our band should sound” – it is a record that stands proud and unambiguous as a work or pure, metallic mayhem.

From the album’s opener, the crazed “The Sword Of Wrath,” HELLBUTCHER‘s intent is loud and clear: Channeling the spirit of VenomBathoryIron MaidenExciterMotörheadMercyful Fate, and the aggressive spirit of true heavy metal. It’s an explosion of diabolic evil, performed relentlessly by true masters of the form.

Elaborates Hellbutcher of the band’s latest single, “The title ‘Hordes Of The Horned God’ was inspired by an old Dissection song where Jon [Nödtveidt] mentions ‘my god has horns.’ I crafted the song with an epic yet raw and thrashing feel. The intro riff recurs in various forms, shaping both the chorus and the end of the mid-section of the song. Additionally, our great guitarist, known as Iron Beast, delivers some fantastic guitar solos on this track.”

Stream HELLBUTCHER‘s “Hordes Of The Horned God” at THIS LOCATION.

Watch the band’s previously released video for first single, “The Sword Of Wrath,” HERE.

With an enviable musical pedigree and a killer album to their name, HELLBUTCHERare certain to scorch a mark onto the black metal scene. “I believe this band has the potential to surpass Nifelheim; we’ve accomplished more in a year than I did in the last decade with Nifelheim,” Hellbutcherstates. “The key difference lies in the fact that this band shares a common goal. I am now filled with tremendous inspiration, and I plan to create new songs, records, and gigs at a completely different pace than before.

Insisting in so many words that posers should die, and promising that their live shows “will be a neck-breaking experience,” the underground is about to be hit with an outbreak of evil unlike anything it has seen for a long time. Time to turn the cross upside down: HELLBUTCHER is here, and they mean evil business.

Hellbutcher will be released on May 31st digitally and in the following physical formats and special editions:

The band released the following statement concerning the new album:

“It’s been 5 years since our last release, Accursed. The EP really was a new avenue for the band as we leaned further toward a more blackened approach stylistically. Having more of a tech death background, this EP was a way to lead our fans into the next era. Between The Worlds of Life and Death is an album that really is just a continuation of what we started with Accursed. It captures the band’s core sound, but also brings a newer and bold take on this brand of metal. We want this to be the most approachable album we have made for metal fans. We want people to put this on and be sucked in immediately, yet keep coming back for more.”

SVNEATR, ‘Never Return’, Out Now Via Prosthetic Records!

Photographer credit: Savannah Bagshaw

Guitars/Vocals: Vitharr Monteith
Guitars: James Readman
Bass: Shawn Hillman
Drums: Matthew Logan

Progressive black metal band, SVNEATRhas today released their third album, Never Return, via Prosthetic Records. Covering themes of personal and collective turmoil, as well as perseverance in the face of uncertainty, Never Return arrives as the Vancouver, BC group celebrate ten years since their inception.LISTEN TO NEVER RETURN IN FULL BELOW.

Order Never Return here.

Speaking on the album release, guitarist and vocalist Vitharr Monteith comments: “The day has come and Never Return is here at last! We spent years crafting this record nailing every detail, from the music to the lyrics and it’s presentation. It is the manifestation of hard work, sacrifice and a willingness to unapologetically express ourselves. I am immensely proud of my bandmates and what we accomplished on Never Return.

“I am so stoked for everyone to be able to listen to this record, a weight has been lifted. Pick up a record and we’ll see you on the road!”

Ushering in the decade with climate emergency, a global pandemic and the ever growing corporate hegemony over community needs and spaces, the primary spark that brought Never Return to life was one of an internal and external world in a state of paralysis. Resignation in the face of despair, however, was never going to be on the cards for SVNEATR.

Commencing self-recording in 2022, with vocals and string arrangements recorded by Ryan Shepard at Little Red Sounds as well as mixing, the quartet’s ambitions for Never Return were realised in full thanks in part to a decade of honing their craft to a point of musical and self-actualization. Where previous releases saw SVNEATR display their dichotomous musicianship in atmospheric passages, Never Return shines with progressive influences taking up more presence.

Whilst black and death metal remain a large part of their musical DNA, Never Returnsees SVNEATR introduce cello and contrabass via Shawn Hillman (bass), as well as vocal chanting and clean singing from Monteith. These embellishments bring a celestial quality to their more excoriating passages – see …And When the Storm ComesReaper Of The Universe. Elsewhere the melding of the personal and political is found on the imposing title track, as Vitharr and James Readman’s guitar work shines atop bassist Shawn Hillman and drummer Matthew Logan’s palpably intense tempo changes.

Following mastering work by Brad Boatright, SVNEATR brought in self-taught Vancouver, BC artist Basia Swieczko to create the stark and ominous album cover. Through the tumult and toil that provided the impetus of its creation, Never Return stands as a defiant kickback against fatalism.

Never Return tracklist:
1. Mechanical Wolves
2. Never Return
3. …And When Comes the Storm
4. Omen

“It’s time!!! Let the full European metal assault commence, KK’s Priest / Accept. Not since 1983 have we shared the same battleground. From Germany, from the UK, let the Flying Vs clash, let the metal fly! All in the name of defending our beloved heavy metal music, let the people come from all walks of life to witness the battle royal. There is no doubt that we warriors of metal will give every ounce of our energy and our power in order to deliver up our very finest performance. This is a spectacle not to be missed, and this is possibly the one and only time in history for you to witness this iconic duel. Who will be the victor? You will be the judge, let the music begin from early August to early October… The arena awaits!!”

ACCEPT’s Wolf Hoffmann says:
“This tour with KK’s Priest is a dream come true for Accept and for me personally.
Accept supported Judas Priest back in the early 80s – it was our first ‘real’ international tour and Priest had been a huge influence on us.
I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with KK on this very special tour. It’s going to be epic! Don’t miss it!”
