Marilyn Manson hints at a forthcoming release, marking his first since 2020, through Nuclear Blast Records. This glimpse arrives via a collaborative social media post with Nuclear Blast on Instagram, featuring a one-minute-and-10-second clip. Directed by Bill Yukich, known for past Manson projects like “KILL4YOU” and “Tattooed in Reverse,” the video suggests an attempted comeback for the artist.

Following allegations of abuse Manson retreated from the public eye, refraining from live performances since 2019 and refraining from new music since “We Are Chaos.” However, recent developments indicate a resurgence, with Manson slated to tour alongside Five Finger Death Punch and Slaughter to Prevail starting August 2nd.

Furthermore, Manson’s signing with Nuclear Blast Records signals a significant milestone, symbolizing a potential return to prominence after his expulsion from the industry in 2021. Legal battles and ongoing investigations have characterized Manson’s hiatus, sparked by allegations of abusive behavior from multiple women, including Evan Rachel Wood. These accusations have resulted in a cascade of repercussions, including severed ties with Loma Vista Recordings and his longtime manager Tony Ciulla.

Some would argue that Antichrist Superstar is the last great album Manson released. Antichrist Superstar was a critical and commercial success and has been called one of the best albums of the 1990s. Marilyn Manson and Trent Reznor collaborated on it together. Reznor co-produced the album, which was released in 1996.

In his 1998 autobiography “The Long Hard Road Out of Hell,” Manson recounted a disturbing story involving himself and Trent Reznor purportedly assaulting an intoxicated woman in the 1990s. This story resurfaced during Manson’s legal battles, leading to public condemnation. Reznor severed all ties with Manson when the book was originally released vehemently denying the allegations and labeling them as entirely fabricated.

The looming question remains: can Manson’s ambitious comeback endeavor overcome the shadow of his minute of decay, or is he irreversibly damaged from previous allegations of his tainted love? Only time will tell how the beautiful people will feel about his new shit.
