Sleep Token has dropped a new single/video for the masses to devour, DYWTYLM. For a modern day love ballad Its unique in that it sounds otherworldly and inhuman. It grows on you the more you listen to it. It’s courageous and impressive when a band creates diversity in their music. Sleep Token’s collection of songs are eclectic. Sleep Token’s front man Vessel just might possess the best voice of this generation. His vocal performance delivers emotive and powerful dynamics that range from haunting whispers to soaring falsetto. His baritone crooning is euphonious and mesmerizing in all of its complexities and nuances.

Sleep Token are from London, England. They’ve been doing the band thing since 2016. The group are an anonymous, masked collective led by a frontman using the moniker Vessel. The cryptic ambiguity gimmick has been done before S.T. and its a fun novelty until it isn’t. Concealing your true identity behind a mask is when things get really interesting. Be it for stage fright, biohazards, or so people can just focus on the music, hiding one’s visage is an aesthetic choice that for “obvious reasons” has gained new relevance. I for one, am rooting for the band to keep their identity a mystery as long as possible. It adds a fun element of obscurity and intrigue!

ST’s music is characterized by a unique blend of ambient soundscapes, metal riffs, and melodic vocals that together create a powerful and emotional experience for the listener. In terms of musical style, Sleep Token’s sound has been compared to the likes of Tool and Deftones with an emphasis on atmospheric and ethereal elements. They are a visual art performance act. ST’s lyrics explore themes of spirituality, mental health, emotional vulnerability and love.

Sleep Token has jolted the mainstream with their pop infused metal-core hooks, pulling off an almost impossible feat.

Their 2023 headline shows across Australia, US and Germany completely sold out in 2 days. Their new album Back To Eden set for release on May 29th via Spinefarm Records is their most highly anticipated installments to date. The band has amassed millions of fans they’ve indoctrinated “worshippers.”

Their videos are a tasteful blend of avante-garde and abstract. This four piece ensemble exudes upper echelon musicianship, creativity and originality.

It is clear that this group is carving a path directly across the music industry that cannot be ignored. I look forward to watching this bands success unfold.

Sleep Token have today released new single “DYWTYLM.” Offering something entirely different from what we’ve heard thus far, you can watch the official video here.

Take Me Back To Eden (an hour-plus of music across 12 distinctive tracks) is Part 3 of a trilogy, a spectacular chapter-closer in the ongoing Sleep Token saga — a saga that kicked off in earnest with debut album, Sundowning (2019). 

Eden features probably the heaviest moments thus far recorded by Sleep Token (i.e. “Vore“ and “The Summoning“), along with some of the most immediate and certainly the most emotional (i.e. “Aqua Regia” and “DYWTYLM“), with a slew of other tones, textures, and tangents touched on in-between. 

TMBTE sees Sleep Token boldly re-confirming a true love of the epic (the title track is eight minutes plus), whilst further exploring and developing those elements that keep the music removed from any kind of pack, howling at a moon that’s all its own.

Meanwhile, available album tracks, “Chokehold,” “The Summoning,” “Aqua Regia,” “Granite,” and “Vore” have collectively amassed over 85 million streams, whilst standout single “The Summoning” has generated some 38.8 million streams alone, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the #1 song spot on a host of international Spotify viral charts, as well as being selected as a “YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise,” featuring on YouTube’s homepage, viewed by millions of people every day.

The unprecedented accolades keep rolling in, between the fact that ST has never played a headline show in the UK that didn’t sell out, “Aqua Regia” picking up consistent airplay on the Radio One “Future Sounds” show hosted by Clara Amfo, plus huge pop star Demi Lovato sharing Sleep Token’s music with her 153 million Instagram followers, Sleep Token consistently smash boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place. 

And even though Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press (out of necessity, not ego or gimmick), media can’t help but write about the phenomenon, reporting on the band’s every move; NME note, “Sleep Token offer their fans an entire world to immerse themselves in if they so wish. SLEEP TOKEN ANNOUNCE FALL 2023 U.S. HEADLINE TOUR

BAND TO APPEAR AT KEY FALL FESTIVALS SUCH AS BLUE RIDGE ROCK FESTIVAL, LOUDER THAN LIFE, + AFTERSHOCK

THIRD STUDIO ALBUM TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN OUT MAY 19 VIA SPINEFARM

With fan worship more intense than ever, and worldwide interest and intrigue growing at runaway speeds, Sleep Token have announced their Fall 2023 U.S. headline tour.

The “Rituals” tour kicks off on September 9 in Philadelphia and runs through October 5 in Anaheim. Sleep Token will also appear at several key fall festivals, including Blue Ridge Rock Festival, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock, with even more to be announced shortly.
